It's July 23 and my time in Wisconsin is running out. Time to do some serious dog sketches. I spent some time sitting at the dining room table sketching first Rev, and then Star. I'm most pleased with the large drawing of Star which takes up most of the right hand page of this spread. She is sleeping under the table and I have to twist around to see her and draw her at an angle while she sleeps. If I move she'll get up. It proves impossible to sketch Rush as she watches me and whenever I look at her she gets up and comes over for reassurance. I begin to think the dogs are worried that I'm their new life.

I love being able to feel around with the pen and find their ears in all that fur.
