Another of my paintings for the first Project Art for Nature show. This wood tick is another denizen of my site which was Willow River State Park, Hudson, Wisconsin. The 8 x 10 inch painting is watercolor on Claybord Textured. The image runs off the board just as shown. One of the fun things about painting on Claybord Textured is the ability to scrub out, back to the board surface. All white and highlight areas have been wiped out to create a reflective tick surface. FYI, that's not a head, those are mouth parts. And yes, I painted this with a loupe.
