This is a 16 x 20 inch mixed media painting of a female pileated woodpecker. I worked on Claybord Textured with acrylic inks, acrylic paint, and gouache. I really enjoyed working on the Claybord Textured because it gave my base a lot of texture (see some raised paint lines in the left edges of this painting) to my brush strokes.
