FREE Book Arts Talk: Visual Journaling at the Great Minnesota Get Together (State Fair) Join me on Tuesday, August 19 from 7 to 9 p.m. at MCBA (www.mnbookarts.org) for a free talk on sketching and visual journaling at the Minnesota State Fair. I'll talk about drawing techniques, materials (of course), how the State Fair is set up (i.e., how to find what you want to sketch); and I'll give tips on sketching dynamics (how to know when a duck is going to splash you with its drinking water) and etiquette (how to sketch in tight places where people have to push past). There will also be time for people to share their experiences and sketches if they already journal at the Fair. Think of this as a pre-State Fair BRIEFING.
