At the State Fair this year I got a lot of sketching done; sketching I hope to turn into paintings. Here, still focusing on the cold (and being grumpy) I decided to make a carving of one of my sketches of a male Guinea Fowl. The carving is about 4 inches tall.
The background text is stamped with a metallic stamp ink. A mask was used to protect the bird head. There are a lot of "stampos" in the text which shows how out of it I still am, but it is early days in the cold. The text refers to stuff I'm trying to get done, including cooking. It was chicken soup, of course, which I cooked.
See the original sketch of this Guinea Fowl. (Or click here if you wish to return to that card and continue browsing the State Fair 2007 selections.)
