I'm still trying to work on those landscapes. Here I used the black Pentel Color Brush to sketch "Artists' Point," a spit of land that juts away from the Grand Marais Harbor. Diane and I were sitting in town, at the beach (very close to the donut store!). (I added some watercolor to my sketch.) We did a lot of talking that afternoon, and finally only had time for a little speed sketching. I feel very fortunate that I have friends like Diane who enjoy sketching and talking. I couldn't even begin to list the topics we covered while sitting on that shore, listening to gulls, watching the Canada Geese float by, and watching the light change. It's one of the nicest afternoons I can remember.
