Still in the same large (8 x 10 inch) journal. I went up for a quick trip to Grand Marais to visit with my friend Diane and her family. (Her new grandson was there and I'm happy to announce that his first words were, "Ah, Roz," when I came in the room the second day. That's my story and I'm sticking to it!)
There was a serious forest fire 40 miles away in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area. Except for the slight smell of burning wood, by the time I arrived there was no smoke filling the air as it had earlier in the week. Firefighters, however, were still very engaged in trying to bring the blaze under control.
Here I'm trying to cope with a rock pool. I do this every time I visit. I'm using a Pentel GFKP (that's what it says on the barrel) brush pen, which takes cartridges. The ink on this pen is pretty waterproof. I like the way I can play with the lines.
