These are sketches use Derwent Sketching Pencil (Ivory Black) with watercolor washes. My friend Tom and I went to one of the local Minneapolis Lakes just after the spring hatching. Flocks of goslings rush towards you eager for any bread crusts you might have brought. Older geese stand back and away, watchful. While the abundance of goose droppings in the park grass and on the tarmac paths discourages other walkers, I always find the gosling season a cheery and hopeful time. (This journal is approximately 8.5 x 10.5 inches.)
