More gosling sketches using Derwent Sketching Pencil (Ivory Black) with watercolor washes. Tom and I had both purchased Lucas pan watercolor sets and I was using this outing to continue to experiment with the colors (48!). I find that the Lucas paints are interesting colors and very pigmented. I should work more with them so that I become comfortable with them.

In general, I perfer to work with my small palette of 18 watercolors (M. Graham and Daniel Smith) or my 27-pan box of M. Graham and Schmincke gouache. It's amazing what you can cram in a small box if you are really trying! Of course I typically only use about 6 colors! (This journal is approximately 8.5 x 10.5 inches. The drawing paper is not sized for watercolor, but I think light washes work well on it.)
