Dottie and I often spent time in the yard after a lunch time walk. Besides drawing the various plants and trees in the yard I would use the opportunity to sketch Dottie. On this day she is wearing a neck gaiter. Dottie developed follicular dysplasia when she was about 9. This genetic disease causes the loss of hair. Regrowth hair is different than normal hair. On very cold days I would put the neck gaiter on Dot to keep the cold air off her bare skin and in the summer I would put on a light weight neck gaiter to keep the sun off her bare skin.
