journal page

I have a bunch of animal skulls I sketch from. This is a colored pencil sketch of my coyote skull. The page had been prepainted with left over paint that was on my palette. Since the paint was gouache and could be rewetted and pulled up I worked with colored pencil. The pre-pasted text reads "I don't think that the question of identity is a worry." That actually works with this image.

If you need skulls for drawing practice or teaching (I like to have them on hand when teaching a nature journaling class in case severely inclement weather keeps us inside) I have found Skulls Unlimited easy and fast to deal with. They have several reasonably priced sets for teachers as well as individual skulls. You can purchase real or resin cast skulls. You can visit their website for information on how they operate.
