I went to visit a friend and brought along my new journal. After talking for awhile we got out our journals and I did this Pentel Pocket Brush Pen sketch and then added some light washes of gouache.
This journal is made with Arches Text Wove (Vellin Arches is the new name I believe) paper which is a bit lightweight compared to other papers I use, but it has such great sizing on it. I love painting on it. I don't mind that you can see the ink from the next page. The book is about 6 x 8 inches, so the page spread is about 12 inches wide. Few things are more fun than sitting and chatting with a friend and sketching. (She even made chocolate cake!) |
